CABERNET SAUVIGNON STORY
The Hypothesis Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from one of best vineyards in all of the Napa Valley (The Money Road Vineyard in Oakville). This Cabernet is small in production and spends 18 months in French Oak barrels. The blend is primarily Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, but also has Malbec and Merlot. The wine has incredible depth and complexity, delicious black fruits and amazing opulence. Hypothesis Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is a muscular wine that loves to be paired with food, but is sophisticated enough to stand on its own.
CABERNET SERIES STORY
Higher Education Reserve
With each exceptional vintage we explore a specific sub-appellation in the Napa Valley and showcase its uniqueness, finesse, and power. For the 2014, 2016, and 2018 vintages we focused on Howell Mountain, specifically a vineyard located at one of its highest elevations. These wines champion the balanced expression of Howell Mountain, where smooth structured tannins, excellent natural acidity, and layered complexity add sophistication to the intensity of the mountain fruit. Each was aged in French Oak Barrels for two years and then spent one year in the bottle before release. Future vintages will explore the great regions of Oakville and Rutherford. This wine is sold in a gorgeous wood box that contains one of each of the unique blends and allows the customer to enjoy something incredibly delicious, amazingly unique, and extremely rare. An excellent gift for recent grads, educators, wine aficionados who love to learn about different wines and micro sites.
A NEW INSPIRATION STORY
Bound and Determined
Definition – Completely Serious
This concept is central to the founding practice of our winery. Since our inception in 2005 we have been focused on a single goal…..to produce outstanding wines of substance and quality that compete with wines significantly more expensive. We first did so with the release of our Educated Guess Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and over the past 15 years continue to do whatever it takes to over deliver on quality and keep our pricing reasonable. What better way to pay tribute to everyone who has helped make this steadfast and unwavering belief a reality than to name a wine after our core ideals.
Bound and Determined is both a series of wines and a belief system. At Roots Run Deep Winery we are driven, some might say hell-bent, and at the very least, persistent and resolute in our desire to make the best possible wines period. The Bound and Determined series wines are small in production and high in quality exploring both the micro-sites of the best sub-appellations in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
CABERNET SAUVIGNON STORY
Truth Be Told
A partnership between two great wineries, Roots Run Deep of the Napa Valley and Goose Ridge of the
Columbia Valley, has resulted in the production of the next great Cabernet Sauvignon from the state of
Washington. For decades Goose Ridge has grown world-class Cabernet, Merlot, and Malbec fruit at the
foot of the famed Red Mountain, all destined for some of the best wines in the region. With their
Goose Gap vineyards now being approved as the newest AVA in America, Roots Run Deep Winemaker
Macario Montoya and the Goose Ridge winemaking team will be producing this incredible wine from their
favorite hillside blocks.
The debut of our 2018 Truth Be Told Cabernet Sauvignon comes out of the gate roaring. An intoxicating
nose of vividly bright fruits, wet stone and hints of tobacco notes all leap from the glass. A well-structured
wine with juicy acidity is balanced by tiers of rich ripe berries, plum and licorice. A hint of new oak adds
texture and layers of shaved chocolate and ripe tannins.
